Here are the top 20 performances by the Nationals' prospects in the long season leagues. This is our second of a weekly series here on CapitolDugout.com that will track the top performers in the Washington farm system throughout the season. Now, let's take a look at this week's list.

Note: This list is not about who are the better players or prospects, but rather who is doing the best and making the most of their opportunities.

Rank Name Team Comments Last Week's Rank
1 Josh Whitesell HBG Slugging first baseman has caught fire of late, hitting .457 with 4 HR and 9 RBI in his last 10 games NR

2 Joel Hanrahan COL Right-hander has a 1.69 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings over his first 4 games. NR

3 Mike Daniel HAG Daniel has cooled in the last 3 games, but is still hitting .313 with 3 HR and 10 RBI in his last 10 games.  Has an impressive .410 OBP for the season. 18

4 Collin Balester HBG Nats top prospect off to a great start, as he holds a 2.05 ERA with only 6 walks in his first 22 innings of work.  Has also struck out 21. 9

5 Kory Casto COL Responding well to his demotion, Casto is hitting .308 with 2 HR in his first 7 games with Columbus. NR

6 Marvin Lowrance POT Hitting .346 with 3 HR in his last 7 games, Lowrance raised his season totals to .302, 4 HR, 11 RBI. NR

11 Brandon Powell POT Powell has caught fire over the last 10 games, hitting .353 with 4 HR and 9 RBI. NR
