Mike Hinckley Keeps A Positive Outlook

Hinckley Had Surgery This Offseason

Mike Hinckley, with a career 32-13 record and a 2.80 ERA, entered the 2005 season as one of the top Nationals' pitching prospects. Seemingly being fast-tracked to the Major Leagues, Hinckley battled a shoulder injury and a subsequent sub-par season with the Potomac Nationals this past season. But as bad as he season seemingly was, Hinckley remains as confident as ever.

Left-handed hurler Mike Hinckley seemed on top of the world after finishing the 2004 season with a 5-2 mark and a 2.87 ERA in 16 starts for the AA-Harrisburg Senators after beginning the year 6-2 with a 2.61 ERA in 10 starts with Brevard County, even earning honors from Baseball America as the top Nationals' prospect in the entire organization prior to the start of the 2005 season.
